KLM reveal massive increase in revenue

KLM have announced a massive increase in their 1st quarter operating income of more than 80%! The dutch airline, a subsidiary of Air France announced that the joint income of the group had risen to 5.8 billion euros - more than 12% up on the same period last year, and that profits had grown to 8% of revenue, an increase of 2.7%

BA improve punctuality

British Airways have demonstrated a real improvement in punctuality on all routes in the period from April to June. Some 99.5 percent of short and medium haul flights that took off arrived on time. KLM scrap flights to Beirut

The Dutch airline KLM has confirmed that is to withdraw its service between Amsterdam and Beirut due to a collapse in the number of passengers wanting to visit the Lebanese capital after the recent war between the country and Israel.  A spokesman for the airline admitted that the hoped for boom in tourism to Lebanon had never really materialised, and that the route was a loss making enterprise for the airline even before the recent trouble.

the airlines' spokesman went on to confirm that passengers already holding tickets for Beirut Flights would be able to travel with partner airline Air France when the airport re-opened.
