Published: 24/08/06 KLM scrap flights to BeirutThe Dutch airline KLM has confirmed that is to withdraw its service between Amsterdam and Beirut due to a collapse in the number of passengers wanting to visit the Lebanese capital after the recent war between the country and Israel. A spokesman for the airline admitted that the hoped for boom in tourism to Lebanon had never really materialised, and that the route was a loss making enterprise for the airline even before the recent trouble.
