The nightlife in Beijing is surprisingly varied, and vibrant. Since the 1990s, when foreign investment began to pour into China, and the locals found themselves with more disposable income, and a more liberal atmosphere to enjoy, they have been discovering the pleasures of nightclubbing and bar hopping, and there are plenty of new bars and clubs opening in the city all the time.
In the north east of the city, you will find the area of Sanlitun, which is home to some of the most popular clubs in Beijing, and is also the most accessible area to tourists. Old Poachers Inn and Durty Nellie's are very popular English and Irish pubs that attract plenty of ex-pats. If you're looking for somewhere open a bit later for dancing, then try out the Kiss Super Club, where you can keep going until the early hours of the morning.
