Some 208 miles southwest of Denver, on the fringes of the White River Forest in the Rocky Mountains lies Aspen, one of the most exclusive ski resorts in the world, and a great place to go for a bit of winter sports during the winter, and superb hiking and mountaineering in the summer.
Hotels and guest houses are available in Aspen, and these range from the basic to the phenomenal, depending on how much you want to spend, but prices are on the whole comparable with other ski destinations, with the highest rates applying during the peak season and over Christmas when the resort is most popular.
