A good twin centre idea if you're travelling to the west Coast of America is to visit Los Angeles and then drive along the West Coast Highway north through some excellent scenery to San Francisco. There are plenty of attractions along the way including Carmel, and Hearst castle, the home of newspaper tycoon William Randolph Hearst.
You should allow a couple of days to do the drive, which is a little over 400 miles depending on which way you go.
Another alternative is the drive through Lone Pine to Las Vegas, to have a few days gambling at one of the casinos there.
