Around an hour outside Moscow, you can visit the Air Force Museum, where you can see a variety of experimental aircraft from Russia's vast cold war collection, including the Concordski airliner, and many fighter jets as they rust into the ground. The complex has been built on an air force base from World War II, and has an exhibition about Russian Aviation history. The tale about how Russian soldiers fighting the First World War shot down their own planes because they thought that something so clever as a machine that flew must have been German is not present.
Nearby, there is some pleasant countryside to explore and walk through should the weather be good enough.
