Like its neighbour to the north, Dubai, Abu Dhabi has excellent shopping throughout the year, and the nascent shopping festival takes place in March. Only an hour away, Dubai has more events and is more geared to the tourist; it is easy to get between the two cities, and at peak times, Abu Dhabi can be a good place to get a bargain holiday and still enjoy the beaches and climate that the UAE is famous for.
