The cities of the Czech Republic host a variety of events and special occasions throughout the year, and the chances are, that whenever you visit there will be something going on in the city.

If you decide to travel to Prague between New Year and Lent, you will be there during the historic Ball season. There are large balls of the dancing variety throughout the period, and tickets are available locally, although you should generally try to book in advance for one of the larger events.
