As the industrial and cultural capital of India, Mumbai hosts many different events throughout the year, and these include motor shows, trade fairs and conferences, however of more interest to leisure tourists are the arts festivals such as the one on Elephanta Island in February each year, where classical musicians from all over India converge for performances in the evenings for a four day long Indian Cultural extravaganza.
Mumbai is home to the Bollywood film industry, and hosts the annual Mumbai International Film Festival in order to showcase the latest releases. The festival takes place at the Nehru Auditorium during February.
