The city hosts a variety of events and conferences throughout the year, but the favourite of many is the cherry blossom festival in April, when the city is home to a large parade on Constitution Avenue.
Adams Morgan day is celebrated with a huge party in that neighbourhood of the city in September.
Throughout the year events take place on the Mall including the National Frisbee Festival in September, and on the 2nd Thursday in December, the President officially starts Christmas by lighting the vast Christmas tree.
