Of most interest to the traveller is the Ommegang Procession of the Nobility in early July, which sees the country's elite parade through Grand Place in period costumes.

National Day is celebrated with parades, and fireworks on 12th June, and during August, you can see the traditional Maypole Pageant, again in Grand Place, when children dance around maypoles, and adults get drunk.
