Florence Festivals in Florence

Aside from Gioco Del Calcio Storico (John the Baptist's Football Day), major religious festivals in the city include the spectacular fireworks of Easter Saturday - the Explosion of the Cart, which takes place in front of the Duomo, and includes, er, the explosion of a cart.

Christmas day in Florence - as all of Italy is 8th December, although Santo Stephano keeps people going until December 26th, and the locals gravitate towards La Duomo for New Years celebrations.
