Amsterdam Getting Around in Amsterdam

With a great public transport network centred on Centraal Station, Amsterdam has trams and buses that run regularly throughout the day. Schipol airport is only around 15 minutes from the centre of the city, and easily accessible by train.

Car hire is only recommended if you are leaving the city, however there are plenty of places around where you can rent a bicycle and with the flat roads, which are largely traffic free, cycling in Amsterdam is a pleasant and safe experience.
