Tarom, Romania's national airline provides a good value efficient service between the major cities in the country, and is supplemented by one of the most comprehensive rail networks in Europe. The quickest way to get around are the Accelerat trains, followed by the Inter-City, and finally the Personae, which are interminably slow, and stop literally everywhere.
Roads in Romania are poor, and covered in potholes. The fact that most of the smaller farms still use horse and cart for transporting goods means that hiring a car can be a frustrating experience, when you get stuck behind Dobbin the donkey on a single track road and spend an hour travelling at a snail's pace.
