With an empire that stretched from the icy wastes of Siberia through to the Middle East in Afghanistan, and as far to the east as Japan, the cuisine in Moscow is varied, with almost every particular type of food on offer.
Yar is a Russian institution that has been open since 1826, and has hosted Pushkin and Stalin amongst many others. It's certainly not cheap, but the quality is very good, and the menu offers plenty of choice.
Other cuisines well represented in Moscow are Chinese and Italian restaurants, and there are plenty of places to get a Mexican Chilli in order to keep out the cold in winter.
