There is absolutely no shortage of places to go for a meal in Shanghai, and the cultural openness of the city means that you can chow down on anything from dogs to hot dogs, depending on what you fancy. One of the best places to eat out is in the Yunnan night market, where stalls stay open until the small hours, and serve a wide variety of local foods that are well worth sampling.
For a more formal evening out, many of the more upmarket hotels boast high quality restaurants, and the JC Mandarin is highly recommended.
