Edinburgh offers plenty of choice for shoppers, whether you're looking for something upmarket in Jenner's (the city's best known old style department store), Harvey Nichol's or one of the many small designer boutiques, or a bargain along the Royal Mile or the Ocean Terminal complex in Leith.
Good value tartan, Celtic jewellery, and haggis are available at many stores, and you're likely to see some unfamiliar, and superior whiskies in the many off licenses and specialist shops in the city.
Shopping hours are from 9am- 5.30pm except on Thursdays, when 7.30pm is closing time.
