Being the most populous island, home to Honolulu and the US Naval base at Pearl Harbour, Oahu is the place to go if you want to go shopping in Hawaii, and there are plenty of large shopping malls stuffed with bargains where you can go and spend your hard earned cash on everything from fishing tackle to high fashion. The best of the malls is probably the Ala Moana Center in Honolulu, which prides itself on offering the latest goods direct from the mainland, and usually at a lower price.
Shops tend to be open until 6pm throughout the week, and 8pm on Saturdays - although this can vary depending on the time of year when you go.
The Aloha Flea Market is a fixture on the calendar for many Hawaiians, who head to the stadium car park in Honolulu every Saturday morning to see what is on offer and what bargains they can pick up.
