Anne Frank's house is a poignant reminder of the Second World War, and a must see for tourist in Amsterdam. It is easy to find in the centre of the city, and attracts millions of visitors. The Frank family hid here for 2 years from 1942, and Anne's diary was found in the rubbish when they were carted off to Auschwitz.

It's a good idea to visit the house and museum as early as possible, the tour is pretty short, and the queues do get longer as the day goes on.
