Perched atop the magnificent Sugarloaf Mountain, the imposing statue of Christ the Redeemer looms large above the city with his arms outstretched in friendship. An international icon of the city and its people, the statue is lit up throughout the night, and can be seen from miles around. The views from the top of the statue are wonderful, and from the vantage point of the mountain you feel as though you can see the whole world on a clear day.
