Junkanoo is the cornerstone of Bahamian culture, and takes place over Christmas and New Year, The sound of Goombay drums and cowbells draw n the tourists, and the celebrations are infectious but it is primarily a local festival.
Like many other Caribbean destinations, The Bahamas hosts a music festival in the summer. Caribbean Muzik Fest takes place around Nassau in late May / Early June and is an opportunity for the great and good from the Reggae and Calypso world to get down for a week long party.
