The city of Brussels has plenty to entertain the tourist. There are loads of museums and galleries, and many of these are gathered around the Palais Royal at the edge of Parc de Bruxelles in the centre of the city.
The two Bellevue museums, those of the royal history of the country, and the history of former ruler Baudoin (who died in 1993) are close to the Royal Palace.
The park itself is a formal affair, although in summer, on hot days you will find people lying around soaking up the sun.
In the Heysel estate, which was the site of the 1958 world fair, you can find the famous Atomium, and mini Europe. The former is a model of an oxygen model, from the top of which you can see views of the whole area. Mini Europe is, as the name suggests, a model of Europe, with accurate models of Westminster, and the Eiffel Tower, amongst the attractions.
