Moravia in the south is the most picturesque part of the country, and is dotted with castles and small villages. The locals are easy going and will often join you for a pilsner or two in one of the small taverns.
Mikulov on the Austrian border is the centre of the Czech Republic's wine producing region, Palava and the local vineyards offer tours and tasting sessions throughout the year. The town is a treasure chest of Baroque architecture, and the castle, which was burned down by the Germans during World War II has been fully restored and now houses a folk museum and art gallery.
Kutna Hora around 65KM south of Prague was once a centre of the silver industry, but is now turning into a smaller version of the capital, and has much to offer, including low prices and some lovely architecture around the main square.
The Bohemian Spa at Karlovy Vary is world famous, and people travel from across Eastern Europe to take the waters, and enjoy a few days relaxation in the pretty mountain town.
