A city proud of its heritage and status as a major cultural centre, Denver has plenty of museums and galleries to explore - notably the Black American Western Museum and Heritage Centre, which tells the story of the African American influence on the conquest of the plains.
Larimer Square to the north east of the Civic Centre is a pleasant area of redeveloped buildings that forms the main nightlife centre in the city, and the renovated turn of the century buildings are filled with bars, restaurants and night clubs that are the place to see and be seen in the evening.
