Taking turns with its neighbours, Tallinn hosts the Baltika Folk Festival in July every couple of years. The larger All-Estonian Song Festival takes place every 5 years and celebrating the singing revolution that freed the country from communism has a climax of thousands of people singing once banned traditional songs on a vast stage in the city. In August, the White Lady Festival celebrates the country's most famous ghost, while ordinary Estonians get to party with the departed during the Time of Spirits in November.
