As the capital and cultural centre of a nation as diverse as Indonesia, Jakarta has plenty of attractions to keep you entertained and occupied during your stay. Amongst the most impressive are the old town of Batavia, which retains a certain amount of Dutch colonial charm, and the Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, a 250 acre park in the southeast of the city where you can see impressive displays of life in all the different communities in the country as well as a cable car ride above the lagoon, which is a good way of seeing things.
