Amongst the many attractions available for tourists coming to this exceptional city are within the Intramuros district, which was the original Chinese settlement that predated Manila.
The Spanish made the area their base and constructed a fort in 1590, parts of which have been restored after their destruction during the Second World War, and amongst the architectural pearls are the Spanish Colonial Style Casa Manila, the Church of San Augustin (one of the oldest buildings in the city) and also the stunning Manila Cathedral, which has been build and rebuilt many times over the years.
