Aside from trekking in the mountains, Nepal actually has a great deal to offer visitors, cities away from Kathmandu such as Bhaktapur slightly to the East which is if anything more picturesque than the capital, and has many buildings of interest as well as fascinating sculptures around the medieval centre. Little changed in centuries, Bhaktapur is a great place to see how the Nelapese have lived in the past, as many of their customs remain intact.
