With so much to see and do in Stuttgart, you need to plan carefully to fit in as much as you can during your stay, and some of the essential attractions are the beautiful Palace Gardens with their formal arrangements and pleasant walks; the Bad Cannstatt Mineral Baths where the royals have been coming since the 19th century, but where these days you're as likely to see pensioners as pop stars; Around the Schloss Platz, you can see the finest buildings in the city - the Kunstverein (home of the municipal art gallery); and also the Staatgalerie - a striking building completed in 1984 which includes works by Picasso in the collection.
