Outside Kiev, there is a great deal of interest for the traveller: from the small villages of rural Ukraine, where carts are still pulled by horse, and it is as though the twentieth century never happened; the urban sprawl of Lviv, Ukraine's second city with its amazing architecture, and cosmopolitan atmosphere; and Odessa, the former home of the Russian Navy, and still an important port on the Black Sea.
Many Ukrainians head to Dachas on the Black Sea Coast in the summer, and there are some good hotels to stay at for tourists along the beach.
