Northern Brazil enjoys a lovely year round climate of warm temperatures and tropical rain in the afternoon, although this rarely affects activities too much. South of Rio de Janeiro, the country gets incredibly hot through the summer months from December through until February, and insanely wet during the wet season from June through August. The best time to visit Rio is of course the Carnival, although you;ll be lucky to get a room unless you book around a year in advance.
