You can travel Canada at any time of the year, and for most people, the time of year that they go will vary depending on why they are visiting. Canada is a vast country, and the climate varies enormously across it. In the North, and the Rocky Mountains the temperatures rarely get above freezing throughout much of the year, while in the south in cities such as Toronto, summer is long and hot. Because of the weather in the Rockies, the Rocky Mountaineer Train does not operate between October and March - although this is the best season for skiing in the resorts such as Whistler.
