In summer, Mumbai is a hot city where the air can get thick with pollution and the humidity saps your energy and even standing still for a few minutes takes considerable effort. The best time to visit then is during the winter - from September through until April, when the temperature is cooler, and the air is much drier. A good time to visit is during one of the many festivals, when the city is more colourful and happening.
