The peak season for travel to Oman is from October through until Easter when the weather is cooler, and less humid. Although not yet as popular for family holidays as Dubai is, school holidays are increasingly busy in Muscat as more and more people discover the destination. The low season through the summer is marked by incredibly high temperatures, and you can do little more than lie by the pool waiting for your next drink in the daytime, although when the temperature drops in the evening, its comfortable enough to go out and see the sights, and many opening hours reflect this.
