Nightlife in Thailand as a whole is amongst the most startling in any place in the world. Girlie bars are popular in almost all resorts, with Bangkok, Pattaya and Patong in Phuket amongst the best known places to watch beautiful half naked girls dancing while you drink. Many of the bars also put on shows, which are at best x-rated, and you should be careful to turn down invitations to play ping-pong.
Of course there are also more mainstream bars and clubs where the culture is firmly on having a good time, and you can let your hair down and dance like you mean it.
