Within a short drive of Fort Lauderdale, and a popular day trip for most visitors is the much larger city of Miami, where you can find a great nightlife, superb beaches, and of course brilliant shopping. Miami also has plenty of art galleries and museums, as well as being the main cruise departure point for trips around the Caribbean.
