Lake Tahoe in the mountains of the Sierra Nevada is one of the top skiing destinations in the USA. There is a huge selection of hotels and guesthouses in the town, and the nightlife is renowned. Lake Tahoe is an ideal place to combine with a break in Reno, or Las Vegas in order to enjoy hot and cold in a single holiday. In summer when the snow has gone, the town hosts a renowned theatre festival called Shakespeare at Sand Harbour, presumably featuring the work of Shakespeare.
