From arrival at Grantely Adams International Airport, most travellers on package holidays will already have their transfer to the hotel arranged, and a representative will meet them. For those who haven't, there is a good bus service to most of the island from the airport, as well as taxis.
Buses on the island are cheap, frequent and offer a comprehensive network, although they can get busy. The Taxis do not have meters, so it is vital to confirm the fare prior to setting off. Barbados has a good road network that covers the entire island making it very easy to explore.
Hiring a car or a 4WD is a great way to tour the island independently, allowing you to stop when you want, where you want. If you fancy something a bit different, why not hire a classic Mini-Moke.
