You do not need to have any specific vaccinations in order to visit Portugal, and British visitors to the country are entitled to free state health care for non pre-existing conditions without the need to produce an E111 form.
It is recommended though that you still ensure that you have comprehensive travel insurance in case you need to be returned to the UK due to sickness, or are in an area without state facilities.
Hospitals in and around major cities in Portugal are of a high standard, comparable to others throughout the rest of mainland Europe.
