Budapest's position right in the heart of Europe on the main trading routes throughout the continent makes it a real crossroads of culture, and the sheer variety of restaurants on offer means that not only will you not go hungry in Hungary, but you will be spoilt for choice too.
Almost every conceivable cuisine is on offer in the city, from German to English, and from American to Chinese. There is no one specific area in which restaurants proliferate more than any other, and on the whole you do not need to make reservations during the week. Most places are open until around 11pm, and many of the restaurants have a bar attached to them to go to after your meal.
