Among the many annual festivals in the city, without a doubt, the biggest event of the year in Stuttgart is the Cannstatter Volkfest in October. A 16 day long beer festival similar to although smaller than Munich's Oktoberfest, the centre of the city is given over to large beer tents, and there is plenty of entertainment happening around the city in order to keep you occupied between the drinking.
During the summer, fans of Johann Sebastian Bach flock to the city for the annual festival of his music, which attracts the most important chamber music groups from all over the world to perform and pick up tips.
